Practice Schedule
Practice makes perfect! At 40 Fire, we practice 1x a week in order to prepare our athletes for their games by focusing on drills to improve coordination, watching film of prior practices and games, and reviewing rules in their leagues to make sure they understand and respect the game to it’s fullest.
Our team is sponsored locally in Kansas City, once selected to join the team, players only pay a one-time $100 fee (which is all inclusive of jersey’s/tournaments fees etc.)—allowing families to focus on growth, not financial burden. Make sure to bring…
- Water bottle
- The right attitude
- Your parent/guardian-signed tryout form
- Basketball
Players should come to tryouts ready to showcase their skills, effort, and mindset. Arrive early, dressed in athletic gear, with a properly inflated basketball and plenty of water. Expect to be evaluated on shooting, ball handling, defense, and teamwork—so practicing these fundamentals beforehand is essential. Coaches are not just looking for talent but also for players who bring hustle, energy, and a coachable attitude—qualities that can make a big impact. Tryouts are competitive, but they’re also an opportunity to grow, so encourage your player to give their best effort, stay positive, and most importantly, have fun!
