About Us and Our Philosophy

Building Future
Athletes and Leaders

At 40 Fire, we believe basketball is more than just a game — it’s a tool for teaching life skills, building confidence, and fostering a strong community.

Our mission is to equip young athletes with the fundamentals, mindset, and work ethic needed to excel at the next level — whether that’s middle school, high school, or beyond.

Meet Our Head Coach

David Voorhees

With an impressive 66-4 record, Coach David has established himself as a leader in youth basketball, but his true success isn’t measured by wins alone—it’s measured by the growth of his players on and off the court. His coaching philosophy is centered on discipline, teamwork, and personal development, using basketball as a tool to shape young athletes into strong, responsible individuals.

Coach David is dedicated to more than just improving jump shots and defensive schemes. He focuses on building character, teaching his players the value of hard work, accountability, and respect—skills that extend far beyond the game. His goal is simple: to help kids become better athletes and even better members of their community.

“Coaching isn’t just about basketball—it’s about preparing kids for life. The way they train, compete, and respect the game reflects the kind of people they’ll become.”

With every practice and every game, Coach David continues to make a lasting impact, ensuring his players leave the court with not just more skill, but greater purpose.
